Big Game Huntr

Nominated in the social networking category of the Flash Lite Developers Challenge People’s Choice Award.

Big Game Huntr, a location-based hunting game populated by user generated content based around communities of players.  The premise of the game is to allow users to generate their own communities of hunts and promote social networking.

Big Game Huntr appeals to both existing location based gamers and to encourage new audiences from those who had previously not considered this a use for mobile devices.

The game entails an admin player to set up the hunt (zones and objects).  Each player then connects to the community via their mobile device and retrieves the hunt data (set of objects and zones).  Once a player finds an object a photo is taken and uploaded to the community where the photo is scored depending on the location and the zone in which the photo was taken.  The player who scores the most points from the photos they have uploaded wins the game. website - Big Game Huntr
